Donald P. Prehoda, Jr., was born in Hermosa Beach,California. He attended the University of Wyoming,where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting in 1971 and a Juris Doctor degree in 1973. He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam conflict, which included a tour of duty in South Viet Nam in 1968-69. Upon receiving his law degree, Mr. Prehoda joined a law firm in Laramie, Wyoming and has been practicing law in this community since 1973. During this period, he has developed a law practice which emphasizes the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, business planning and real estate.

In 1986, Mr. Prehoda was appointed as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Wyoming College of Law, where he has taught the subjects of Trusts and Estates and Estate Planning during six different academic years. In addition to teaching at the law school, Mr. Prehoda has spoken to many community organizations on the subjects of estates, wills and trusts, as well as presented seminars to various licensed professionals, including accountants, real estate brokers, life insurance agents, bank trust officers and lawyers.

A member of the Wyoming State Bar, Mr. Prehoda is the past chairman of the Probate and Trust Section of the Wyoming Bar, a former Albany County Justice of the Peace and is a fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). He has published numerous articles on various estate planning and administration topics, through the Wyoming State Bar, the University of Wyoming College of Law and the National Business Institute.

Mr. Prehoda is very involved with the Laramie community, having served or is presently serving as President or on the Board of Directors of the Laramie Rotary Club, Ivinson Memorial Hospital Foundation, Eppson Senior Center, Kiwanis Club of Laramie, Albany County United Way, Hospice of Laramie, Snowy Range Academy and the Laramie Country Club. He is also a member of the Laramie Chamber of Commerce and the Laramie Economic Development Corporation.

Mr. Prehoda and his wife, Mary-Catherine (Mary-Cay) Prehoda, nee Veronda, are well acquainted throughout the State of Wyoming, as the practice of law has taken them to most every community within the state. Mrs. Prehoda's family lived and worked in Casper, Wyoming. Don and Mary-Cay have one daughter, Nicole Marie. She presently resides in Portland, Oregon. Activities enjoyed by Mr. Prehoda include fly fishing, snow skiing and golf.
